What are the red hot balls?
The RED HOT BALLZ are a dodgeball team playing in the Zog Sports Queens league. We are by reputation the most enthusiastic dodgeball team in all the land. This is seen in our playing style, side line cheers, (removable) costumes and theme song choices.

How did you get involved in dodgeball and how did you become captain?
I joined Zog dodgeball in 2009 when a good friend, Ariana Hernandez, moved to Astoria and heard we could get really good drink specials if we joined the league. Not to mention it was a great way to make new friends. I eventually became captain of what would become the RED HOT BALLZ by impressing my team mates with my passion for the sport… not to mention the use of force and intimidation.
What do you love about the experience/ dislike about the experience?
I initially loved being on an organized sports team, which was something I’d never done before. Then, season after season, our team saw many new characters with crazy personalities and I found that the spirit of the RED HOT BALLZ undeniably penetrates all its members. I also realized that singing ridiculously awesome cheers and dancing on the side lines and basically being my loud crazy self was enough to influence my team and therefore lead us to winning the coveted Most Team Spirit award 3 times! The only negative has been (up until recently) keeping consistent team members: people move away, work late hours, etc., but I’m proud to say my RED HOT BALLZ are stronger than ever and we’re ready to dominate!!
Any tips to anyone joining?
